Yet another happy parcel day for me as I receive my Luxola purchase containing my Skin Inc Brightening Set.
I couldn’t wait to open everything to try out the products after reading all the hype on magazines and blogs. And, I’ve gotta say, my first impression is that this is truly an awesome product set.
What’s all the hype about and does it really live up to its claims? Well, here’s my first impression of it.
First, let’s delve into its product claims:
“Get visibly brighter and clearer skin with this 5-piece collection comprises Skin Inc’s award-winning 3-step regime:
The packaging is simple and instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Next comes the product impression.
Right out of the tube, I find this somewhat scentless liquid rather unassuming. I like that it doesn’t leave a sticky residue after application. This revolutionary formula apparently contains active ingredients that prevent cellular damage to renew and restore vitality into skin. It is a gentle but powerful peel which promises to detox skin cells, prolong cell life, strengthen skin collagen and elastin, and repair UV damage. My first impression of it was that I was left wanting more: it definitely left my skin feeling softer and more supple to the touch. I was encouraged and enthusiastic about what the serums and mask would do.
The next step would be the serums. Each glass vial contains different ingredients: Vitamin A (pink), plant-based Placenta (purple) and Hyaluronic Acid (blue). Three drops applied twice daily, before moisturiser onto clean skin, for clearer, brighter skin.
Individual serums applied easily and did not leave any sticky residue and did not contain any unpleasant smells. Paraben-free products are better for one, or so I hear. The topic of paraben in cosmetics and skincare first drew attention back in the early naughties when in a 2004 study by Dr. Philippa Darbre published in the Journal of Applied Toxicology found parabens in breast tumors. However, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration of the United States of America) stated in its official post on parabens that “the study did not show that parabens cause cancer.” However, since then, there hasn’t been quite the consensus on whether or not parabens are safe. I guess then, it would be best to just stay away from using cosmetics that contain paraben.
Next comes the Pure Deepsea Hydrating Mask: a triple-treat gel mask which promises to clarify, hydrate and whiten in one simple step. This clear, scentless gel also combines soy bean extract for brightening the skin and hyaluronic acid for the extra moisture boost. Applied all over the face (gentle enough for the eye area) and left on overnight daily, this mask promises to replenish skin moisture. This product was also pleasantly scent-free and did not leave any sticky residue. It did feel, somewhat thicker than the peel.
So, cheers to my first night with Skin Inc’s revolutionary 5-step system. Super stoked to see clearer skin in the near future!I will certainly be following up this post with a more in-depth review after extended usage so do watch this space. In the meantime, thanks for reading!
