Too Faced Chocolate Bar: First Impression & Look

I am seriously going to become fatter with this Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette. It is the latest release by Too Faced Cosmetics and it smells of chocolate because it is infused with cocoa. Too Faced Co-founder and Creative Director Jerrod Blandino learnt of the healing properties of cocoa and decided to create the world’s first one-of-a-kind palette that combines the healing benefits of chocolate with creamy, pigmented eyeshadows.

For centuries, chocolate has been used to soothe, protect, condition, and heal skin that has been damaged by sun and wind and studies have shown that the scent of cocoa powder boosts memory and brain power.

I don’t know about boosting brain power but I sure know about craving chocolates every single time I get a whiff of this palette! The scent isn’t overpowering, rather more like a light chocolatey scent that wafts from the palette.  And it’s just so damn yummy.  Those colours are such eye candy too, I smile each time I use this palette. That alone should be a compelling enough reason for you to consider purchasing this palette.

Frankly, I have never been one to like artificial scents much and this one doesn’t seem that chemically-enhanced (especially sweet –smelling stuff). I find it gives me a headache after sometime. It’s different for this scent, it seems I am hooked to smelling this palette; as close as it may sound to eyeshadow-abuse.

This is a neutral palette and it comes with 16 eyeshadows: ranging from glitter, shimmer, to matte and satin finishes. Neatly packaged in a tin chocolate bar (lookalike), the palette comes with a magnetic closure and smells like a warm cup of cocoa every time you open it. Also included with this palette is an instructional look booklet to gives users an idea of how to create three different eye looks with this palette.

The eyeshadows are creamy and pigmented. They are also highly blendable and apply like butter although the matte shadows do kick up some powder when you put your brush into the pan but that’s not a deal breaker for me. I love the colour variety in this palette. These eyeshadows are also cruelty-free and are formulated free of Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates.
