Here’s another late-to-the-party post about the Urban Decay Shattered Face Case. I believe this was released as part of the 2013 holiday gift sets and retailed in Sephora for about S$70. I’ve had it and kept it sitting pretty in my drawer thinking I would only pull it out for travel but have not seen the need to use it until now.
I’ll be honest and tell you that I got mine purely because I’m a sucker for packaging and this case was designed so awesomely and compact with the added bonus that this palette contains everything for a full face of makeup (except foundation, primers and brushes/ sponges). It’s a nifty little package to throw into an overnighter and compact enough for touch ups on the go.
The purple and silver with a mirror finish just sealed the deal for me. Everything is so street, vampy and sleek. You know a brand takes every care when their packaging designs are so cutting-edge and unapologetic yet stylish.
This is a full face palette in a double-layer plastic case that includes five eyeshadow shades, two blushes, highlighter, lip colour and a travel-size eye pencil. Anyone who knows Urban Decay, will know their products usually mean good quality eyeshadows, opaque lip colours, and creamy eye pencils. The Shattered Face Case fgeatures a travel-sized version of the renowned Zero 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil and a full-sized Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Colour.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s in the case:
I love the versatility of the range of shades featured in this palette, while the frosted pastels are great for creating soft daytime looks, the darker shimmers can be worked into dramatic eyes for evenings too. I found the matte white shade (Bleach) to be somewhat chalky with lesser pigmentation than the other frosted/ shimmer shades. Also, I found it was harder to get the blush (Temper) to show up on my skin tone. The highlight shade (Glint) is such a gorgeous colour although I think when used a highlight might be somewhat too shimmery.
Here’s a look I created with this face case, I hope you enjoy it.
