Did a little bit of shopping over the weekend and picked up the Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Rouge Volupte lipstick in the Spring 2014 colour, Fushcia Tourbillon (#31). While this is new for Spring, it is included as part of the permanent line.
Naturally, every makeup addict who isn’t living under a rock, already knows that these YSL Rouge Volupte lippies are phenomenal. Not only are they incredibly creamy yet pigmented and apply easily, they also contain ingredients that are good for the lips! The packaging of these babies haven’t changed since their debut in late 2008 and most of the colours in the permanent line are so popular, they are usually sold out.
“An innovative and comforting lipstick enhanced with fruit extracts rich in vitamins and antioxidants that leave lips visibly softer and smoother with up to eight hours of hydration.” – Sephora website
With its regal gold packaging, these lippies are all the rage with some trying to collect all the available shades! I decided to try the new release for Spring 2014 in #31 (Fuchsia Tourbillon). Although it didn’t last eight hours on me, the four-hour-ride was definitely good enough for me. This lipstick is rather slippy when initially applied because it is so moisturising and I love that it dried into a somewhat satin finish on my lips. This lippy features a light fruity scent which dissipates after application.
Here’s what it looks like in the tube. In all my excitement, I forgot to take a picture of the swatch, sorry guys! But it is a gorgeous, gorgeous shade of intense bright pink, pretty bold and perfect for sunny days! Fuchsia Tourbillon is a bright pink and seems to contain a stronger white base, at least that’s how it looks when applied on me. The colour is true to the shade depicted on the packaging of the lipstick bullet. As a bold pink, it would definitely look best when paired with neutral eyes. Here’s how it looks on me.
